YouTube - Android GPS Navigation - Sygic Aura proffesional navigation Mine is up to about 20 meg or so, most of Scotland and a portion of England.Īura is up to 2.1.1 now, and mine looks the same as yours, as in the second shot above.Īnd postcode search works too, pick "Find", selected UK(as i got the Ireland maps too), pick city, then just type in a postcode, rather than a city name, entered my parents postcode, and it showed up.Īs to looks, mine seems the same as the official video too, which is about 2 weeks old, seen here: So you can do all that before a trip, etc, so all you need is the GPS enabled. I know mine does, open Google Maps, press menu, cache settings or something, and select cache to phone(it's actually SD card but it says phone), and you should see the cache size get bigger the more map tiles you look at/download.

Can anyone confirm if this is how the full version looks on the Android platform, or is it the same list style as in the trial? Sygic Mobile Maps - Screenshotsĭoesn't the latest Google Map's v5 cache for you on the SD card?

Looking at the screenshots on Sygics website, the landscape view display is much more what I'm after, as mentioned above easier to hit icons, but these are nothing like the trial build I have currently, and there definately aren't any options to change display style. Aswell as havnig a more practical large icon interface(when the phone is in its mount the icons need to be bigger like NDrives IMO) there would be no contest.
If Aura had full postcode search instead of having to fiddle around with streets(this has already caused problems with not listing the street name I need, making it impossible to set it going without choosing a random street from the list0.
I'm still confused by Jamie's comment earlier that search with full UK postcodes works for you, I've tried and tried and it definately does not work on this build, could it be that the full version is slightly updated with features such as full postcode search, or are you using it on a different platform(iphone4 for instance)? and the voice options are much better too(can even choose other languages which is fun for me speaking basic Spanish). As mentioned before for me NDrive is a much more user friendly interface, but I can't help but wish Aura was that little bit better in a couple of areas as I do prefer its navigation, it looks nicer(love the 3d landscape view, nicer than my dedicated sat nav), I like the way it displays the speed limits etc. Well today is crunch day really as Sygic Aura is set to come off the sale price of 20Euro. Not really, seemed loud enough to me and don't think I had it on full volume. Just noticed it's Sygic Aura rather than Sygic 10. Main things I need, to be able to just input postcode only for speed, and be able to choose from multiple route options would be handy too as some of thesmaller lanes around the moors can be a real pain, especially when it's icy! Have brought it down to two choices now after reading of all my options, the two I'm between are NDrive(which looking at their website appears to be 39.99Euros for UK), or Sygic 10(which is currently on offer at 19.99Euro for UK, which seems a good price).ĭon't want to faff about with trials(hate having stuff left rooted in my phone after trials) and would rather just choose and purchase, so just wondered if anyone had opinions on either, or even better both? So, looking to add a paid for GPS alternative. But now part of my job involves mulit-drop deliveries to isolated pubs around Exmoor, I've discovered it isn't without its problems, main one being arrive at destination, destination has no phone signal, which means when I program my next drop, until I gain signal again I'm without driving directions.

I've been using google maps for some time now and must admit I think it's bloomin fantastic, especially as a free application.
